Sanskriti completes 35 years of its
creative journey in 2013. To mark this milestone, and
to celebrate this journey, we plan to have activities
throughout the year, in the form of events, exhibitions,
seminars and workshops:
Inauguration and Exhibition - 9th November 2013
Inauguration of Exhibition: New Acquisitions
and Selected Objects from the Reserve Collections of the
Sanskriti Museums by Shri Ravindra Singh,
Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India on
Saturday, 9th November, 2013 at 5:30 pm.
This exhibition is structured around various thematic
clusters – shadow puppets, Jaina temple hangings,
brocades, Indonesian ikatsand embroidered textiles from
the Thar Desert area. Emphasis is equally divided between
the object and the information about its cultural context.
The exhibition will be augmented by periodic performances
of shadow puppetry and craft demonstrations. Sanskriti
welcomes group visits and children’s workshops around
the exhibition as well as its three museums.
The Exhibition will be open for public at –
Venue: Sanskriti Kendra, Anandgram, Mehrauli
Gurgaon Road, New Delhi – 47
Date: 10th November - 10th December 2013
Time: 11 am to 6 pm daily. Mondays are
closed.
The occasion will also coinside with the inauguration
of a Multi-Purpose Hall and an adjunct Art Gallery.

2014
The Foundation Day events will comprise exhibitions, performances,
film show etc.
