Awards

Who is eligible for Sanskriti Awards?
Indian nationals in the age group of 25-35 years are eligible.

I am eligible for the awards, how do I apply?
Self nomination is not possible. Please send in your nominations through an expert in the respective field.

What is the selection process?
Nation wide scouting and nominations from experts in the award categories. A jury decides upon the awardee.


Kendra

What are the lodging facilities at the Kendra?
The Kendra has 8 residential studios for painters, sculptors, and writers. It also has 4 dormitory style accommodations with attached bath, which can each house 4-5 people and are ideal for workshops.

What kind of meals are served at the Kendra?
Only vegetarian meals are served at the Kendra.

What are the facilities offered for seminars and workshops?
A conference hall, an amphitheatre, the lawns and dormitories for participants desiring
overnight stay.

Does the Kendra have facilities to organise creative workshops for school children?

Does the Kendra have e-mail facilities?
Yes, on payment.

Is the Kendra open all year?
Kendra (museums, conferences, workshops) is open all round the year.
However, due to extreme climatic conditions between May and August, we do not encourage residencies.


Museums

What are the hours for the museum?
Museums are open on all days except on Monday and public holidays around the year from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Is there an admission fee?
Entry is free.

I am interested in researching the museum objects, what documentation do you have?
The museum objects are fully documented with photographs in analog/digital form.

Is the Kendra accessible to the physically challenged?
Write to us about the nature of your disability, the Kendra tries best to
accommodate residents with disability.


Residency

How do I apply for the residency program?
You may apply by filling out the online application form or by downloading and submitting the form either via email or post, along with relevant documents.

How long can I stay at the Kendra?
Depending on the availability of accommodations and the duration of the project. A minimum of 20 days to 6 months.

My project requires me to extend my stay?
Requests for extensions can be considered.

Can my spouse/partner accompany me?
No, only under exceptional circumstances.

Can my children/relatives accompany me?
No.

What is the cost of stay at the Kendra?
U.S $ 65 per day which includes lodging facilities, mails and studio space only. All other costs will have to be borne by the applicant.

Does Sanskriti provide air-fare and local transport?
No air fare/local transport is provided.

What are the health precautions one needs to take?
Drink only filtered water, and carry enough supply of medication specific to your problem.

Fellowships

Can fresh graduates and post graduates apply for the Fellowships ?
No, all the Fellowships require some experience in the chosen field of study. For further details please refer to the Fellowship schemes.
