Workshops

The workshop activity has emerged directly from Sanskriti’s mission to strengthen the socio-cultural roots of the emerging generation. Sanskriti Kendra is a space where creative people in different cultural and social disciplines can study, interact and reflect together. Its unique atmosphere and facilities make it an ideal venue for seminars, conferences, arts and crafts-related workshops and the like.  

The following types of workshops may be conducted:

Workshops for/by NGOs
Sanskriti Kendra offers conference facilities along with accommodation to NGOs to host workshops, training camps, seminars and public forums. Numerous civil society
organizations benefit from its special environment, and its facilities that can be adapted to meet a variety of needs.

Workshops for Children
The aims of Sanskriti’s children’s programmes are to augment the school curriculum by creating a better understanding of nature, of cultural and artistic practices. They also seek to enhancethe personal, artistic and creative development of children. The programmes are based on carefully designedlearning materials derived from the collections of the Sanskriti Museums and pedagogical practices that help children to move from concrete experiences to understanding as they gain skills. Workshops have been organized for children from schools and institutions in and around Delhi, as well as for underprivileged children.

Past workshops have covered:
Pottery, Paper and Found Object Recycling, Jewellery Making, Story telling and Paper Crafts, Miniature Painting, Sujuni Embroidery, Block Printing, Bamboo Craft, Bamboo Weaving, Tie-and-Dye, Folk Painting (Madhubani, Warli, etc)

Workshops for International Tour Groups
Sanskriti organizes museum and site visits and workshops for tourists, visitors and art groups interested in exploring and experiencing Indian traditional arts and crafts. Our focus is on enriching the experience and knowledge of visitors about culture, arts and crafts of India. The Museum Tour is the main highlight along with Arts and Crafts Workshops.
Sanskriti also provides temporary residential and working spaces to both traditional and contemporary artists and craftspersons, and promotes interactions between the two.To know more about such workshops organized in the past, click here.
