INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY CELEBRATION–
2015
As part of the International Museum Day celebrations
worldwide, Sanskriti Museums conducted day-long guided tours
of the three museums along with workshops at the campus
in sync with IMD theme this year : Museums
for a sustainable society.
The IMD celebrations at Sanskriti started with the guided
tour of the three museums for around 50 children from Nav
Abhiyan, an NGO and private schools; thereafter the children
participated in "Sanjhi " workshop which is the
traditional art of paper cutting in association with Aga
Khan Trust for Culture.

Celebration of 35
years of Sanskriti
Sanskriti completed 35 years of its creative journey in
2013. To mark this milestone, and to celebrate this journey,
various activities throughout the year, in the form of events,
exhibitions, seminars and workshops were organized.
Inauguration and Exhibition - 9th November 2013
An Exhibition: New Acquisitions and Selected Objects from
the Reserve Collections of the Sanskriti Museums was inaugurated
by Shri Ravindra Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Culture,
Government of India on Saturday, 9th November, 2013 at 5:30
pm.
This exhibition was structured around various thematic clusters
– shadow puppets, Jaina temple hangings, brocades,
Indonesian ikats and embroidered textiles from the Thar
Desert area. Emphasis was equally divided between the object
and the information about its cultural context.
The exhibition was augmented by periodic performances of
shadow puppetry and craft demonstrations. During this time,
Sanskriti also held group visits and children’s workshops
around the exhibition as well as its three museums.
